MEET

Marcelo Nascimento

Founder, Client Relations. TABC Certified.

A culinary and hospitality industry guru since 1997 and internationally award-winning mixologist, Marcelo began to develop his mixing skills and nurture his passion professionally behind the bar at Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill in 2005. Winning the Grand Prize of the 2008 The Next Big Thing Drink contest, with 3 of his cocktails landing in the top 10, gave him the boost he needed to realize his potential in the cocktail industry. In addition to being at the helm of Austin’s premiere event cocktail service, Lucky 13, he is also the Trade Outreach & Education Director for Ambhar tequila, and previously a bartender at the nationally recognized absinthe and pre-prohibition cocktail bar, Peche.

Athena Nascimento

Owner, Operator. TABC Certified.

The brains and organization talent behind the scenes, Athena knows well the heat of the battle, serving as Chief of Staff and Corporate Communications Director for the US Embassy in Iraq. Parlaying that experience into an extensive and successful career in Human Resources, she left that field to pursue her passion for culinary delights & event logistics. After catering events throughout the country, she settled down in Texas, attending Texas Culinary Academy in the Culinary Arts program. Lucky 13 is the culmination of her many facets and talents, and Athena’s dedication is now focused on creating an unforgettable client and guest experience with event cocktail catering, staffing, and logistics.

Jesse Lewelling

General Manager / Events Manager / Bar Manager / Super Hero. TABC Certified.

Choose any title for him; he has earned his stripes the tried and true way - hard work and time served. With over 13 years in the bar industry from barback to Bar Manager, he brings his practical knowledge to the job every day with fresh insights and invaluable leadership.
